Schapelle (telemovie)


Schapelle is an Australian telemovie that aired in Australia via Nine Network onFebruary 2014 and in New Zealand TV1 TVNZFebruary 2014. It was produced by Stephen Corvini Fremantle Media Australia, written by playwright Katherine Thomson and directed by Khoa Do, who also directed Better Man, which looked into the trial and execution of Van Tuong Nguyen in 2005. It is based on the book Sins of the Father The untold story behind Schapelle Corbys illfated drug run by Eamonn Duff.

The telemovie was originally going to premiere on MondayFebruary, at 830pm, but due to the ongoing events involving the real life Schapelle Corby, it was announced that the telemovie would air on the preceding Sunday instead, thus going head to head with the Seven Networks INXS Never Tear Us Apart.The telemovie was watched by a national audience of 1.02 million, however, Sevens INXS Never Tear Us Apart, aired at the same time, achieved a national audience of 1.97 million. The telemovie was repeated the following night, the day of which it was originally going to air. The final consolidated audience for Schapelle was 1.96 million. ........
